Linden VFW will be hosting a fund raising event this Saturday, Jan 26 for Casey Wacasey who was gravely injured last week as I e-mailed you earlier when he stepped on a lindmine. This local wounded warrior lost one leg and the other was fractured along with numerous shrapnel wounds. He was to be transferred back to the states (San Antonio) for continued medical attention and rehab. This fund raiser will help the family with travel and other expenses to be with Casey. If you can't attend the fish fry or donate to the silent auction, I'm sure that just a donation would be greatly appreciated by this courageous family. Also, please include in your prayers Kathy Mays, the wife of Mt. Pleasant's fallen hero Chauncy Mays, who tragically lost her sister and 6 year old nephew in a house fire last Friday in Greenville.
