Drawing for ballot Placement

To TCRP Precinct Chairman, Candidates and friends,

A drawing for the order of how names in contested races are to be placed on the March 6 Republican Primary ballot, will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the Commissioners Courtroom, on the 2nd floor of the Titus County Courthouse, at 6:00 PM.  Doors will be open at 5:30.

A drawing will be done for U.S. Senator, Governor, statewide offices, and judges all the way down the ticket to our local offices.  Where ever there is a contested race, this drawing must be done according to the Texas Election Code.

The process of the drawing can be done in different ways.  I will be using a deck of cards (Ace high) for each office.  High card drawn will be #1, next highest card will be #2, and so on.  If you are a candidate, you may draw your own card.  If you cannot be present, you may have someone represent you and initial the result.

Our TCRP secretary will record the results and those will be certified to the Secretary of State and also given to our local Election Administrator.

Looking forward to seeing you Thursday evening.
Sue

Ballot Drawing thisThursday

Precinct Chairmen,

HEADS UP!

The Primary Election duties for our county party have begun.  One of the first duties we have as a group, is to do a ballot drawing for placement on the ballot in contested races.  This must be done for ALL the races on the ballot.

The deadline for this is Thursday, December 21.  This can be a function of the Executive Committee alone, however we must invite the candidates.  In the past we have allowed the candidates to draw for placement using a deck of cards, Ace being high.  I would like to do that again.

I have decided to ask Brian Lee to use the County Courthouse courtroom on the second floor to do this, as there could be quite a few people present.  The time will be 6:00 PM.

Please put this on your calendar.  Typically this could be about an hour process.

Thank you,
Sue
