Obama states he will bankrupt coal industry-where is the voice of local government?

The question we should all be asking our local and state officials is what is being done to protect our jobs and our electricity from the EPA. I have seen no public comments from our local government about this critical situation with Monticello. We are building a $3 million dollar city library and a $168 million dollar "loop" while Obama's EPA is destroying the largest industry in Titus county. That's a very large debt on the back of local taxpayers that can become very burdensome if we lose the Monticello power plant. I would urge you all to get involved in this issue. The Commissioners Court will meet this coming Monday, July 25 at 9 a.m. at the courthouse. I don't know if this will be an agenda item, but it certainly needs to be part of the public comment segment. We are small business owners and have felt a tremendous impact from past layoffs at the coal plant. A closure would be catastrophic for our local ecomony.

This hidden audio and transcript of Obama's statements about bankrupting the coal industry was forwarded to me in response to my e-mail last night.
