Favorable Jury Verdict Should Result in Victory for Voters and Religious Liberty!
Great news...the jury returned a verdict that should allow the people to vote on Mayor Parker's Unequal Rights Ordinance. Over the past eight months, a coalition of pastors and community leaders have worked together to repeal Mayor Annise Parker's pro-LGBT so-called "Equal Rights Ordinance." A lawsuit was filed (Woodfill v Parker) after Parker and her legal team invalidated the petitions of approximately 55,000 Houstonians who sought a referendum vote on Parker's Unequal Rights Ordinance.
"The Mayor's lawyers went to extraordinary lengths to discredit, demean, denigrate and disqualify as many petitions and signatures as possible. Thankfully, in spite of an incredible amount of detail presented and even oft repeated by the city's attack team, our God has again raised His standard of justice," stated Dr. F.N. Williams, lead plaintiff for the pastors of the No UNequal Rights Coalition and Senior Pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church as well as President of Houston Ministers Against Crime.
During the two week trial, the Mayor and her legal team of fifteen lawyers attempted to use the power of government to intimidate and threaten those who opposed her LGBT agenda, including attacking pastors, citizens, and even my family.
"We are thankful that the God of justice stood with this David again against the Goliath of the machinery of city government in the hands of those like Annise Parker intent on serving her personal agenda even at the cost of voting rights of the people," added Pastor Hernan Castano, an influential Hispanic pastor and network leader as well as one of the "Houston Five" subpoenaed by the Mayor.
Judge Robert Schaffer will now apply the ruling to the almost 55,000 individuals who signed the petition. I am confident he will conclude we had the requisite 17,269 signatures necessary for the people to vote on this issue.
I want to thank all of you who have been praying over this case. I also want to thank the Houston Area Pastor Council and the thousands of grassroots activists across the country who stood with us as we fought for religious liberty and voting rights!

URGENT ALERT: H.R. 399, the "Secure Our Border First Act" – is ANOTHER border betrayal sham by the GOP that MUST be furiously REJECTED by patriots like YOU!
You see, this bill actually instructs the Department of Homeland Security to TEAR DOWN 66 MILES OF FENCING while requiring a pitiful 27 miles of TOTAL new fencing along the 2,000-mile border… for anyone not already doing the mental math, that's a NET LOSS.
"It is remarkable that the direction of our progress is going backwards, from a goal of building 700 miles of double-layer border fencing [in 2006] to only 27 miles [in 2015]," a staffer opposed to the bill told The Hill, adding, "Where the double-layer fence has been put in, it has worked spectacularly. The public is with us 80, 90 percent on this issue."
BUT REPUBLICAN "LEADERSHIP" IS IN FULL SELL OUT MODE – UNLESS YOU HELP US CRUSH THEIR BETRAYAL WITH CITIZEN OUTRAGE!
This 27 miles is the ONLY NEW FENCING in the bill – and our Border Patrol rank-and-file field officers are ALREADY loudly denouncing H.R. 399 as a disastrous breach of trust with the voters who elected the new 114th Congress to SECURE the border.
Texas Republican Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security says extra fencing would be a WASTE OF MONEY – despite construction being a modest $10 billion dollar allocation.
In 2010, Obama claimed the partially built fence "now basically complete." Since then, thanks to Obama and a complicit Congress, the ongoing Mexican and other-than-Mexican influx at the southern border has been swelled by more than 150,000 lower-skilled Central American migrants crossing UNFENCED parts of the border to stay, apply for asylum, and get government benefits and work permits.
At 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26 H.R. 399 is scheduled for review in the House Committee on Rules… YOUR GRASSROOTS RESISTANCE IS NEEDED NOW!
Saudi Arabia is building 1500 miles of FIVE-LAYER fencing along its northern border with Iraq. It comes complete with chain link razor wire, silent alarms, WATCHTOWERS with video and thermal and night vision surveillance, 240 rapid response vehicles, seven command centers, 28 communication towers, and 32 military response stations (equipped with helipads) to keep out illegal immigrants, smugglers AND invading terrorists. There is even a concertina wire barrier rendering the area between fence layers a NO MAN'S LAND.
According to Homeland Security Newswire, British contractor EADS won the bid with KSA to build an estimated 8,000 miles of fencing and surveillance for the Sauds for a reported $2.3-2.8 BILLION. We've spent $1.6 billion just to TEST two types of fences in Arizona. And we're poised to spend another $10 BILLION in this border security betrayal coming before Congress NEXT WEEK – FOR JUST 27 MILES OF NEW FENCING!
It is CORRUPTION, WASTE AND INEFFICIENCY in Washington that is KILLING America – NOT a lack of WILL of the American people to secure our sovereign territory!
Seeing that physically securing its border is such a cost-effective investment of government resources, Saudi Arabia is now considering ANOTHER fence along its border with the imploding terrorist stronghold of Yemen.
Maybe there would be 'change' to spare here in the USA for true border security if the GOP Establishment "leadership" hadn't capitulated and funded Obama's open borders DHS through February!
MAYBE WE JUST NEED TO FLY THE EADS CONTRACTORS OVER HERE?
But we know money is JUST AN EXCUSE.
This sad state of affairs, the pathetic proposed "fixes" that make things worse, the BETRAYAL is infuriating especially after WE showed up on Nov. 4 with a mandate to SECURE OUR BORDERS and STOP OBAMA'S EXECUTIVE AMNESTY.
Oh rest assured, the Establishment Pubbies in the pockets of the cheap-foreign-labor Chamber of Commerce and multinational corporations are already saying the 66 miles of REMOVED FENCE are just being "fixed" – it is pedestrian prevention fencing being "fixed" by replacing it with VEHICLE FENCING… in other words, now wannabe illegals can just drive up to the border and WALK ACROSS ON FOOT.
THE 'FIX' IS IN WITH THIS WIDE-OPEN BORDERS, WAGE-SHRINKING AMNESTY BILL, FOLKS!
But wait!
Check out these H.R. 399 "fun facts" pointed out by Border Security Hawk Sen. Jeff Sessions in a Jan. 20 statement:
H.R. 399:
"does not end catch-and-release [of new border crossers]; it does not require mandatory detention and return; it does not include worksite enforcement [and] it does not close dangerous asylum and national security loopholes"…
"does not cut-off access to federal welfare; and it does not require completion of the border fence. … It [also] delays and weakens the longstanding unfulfilled statutory requirement for a biometric entry-exit visa tracking system"…
In other words, IT HELPS OBAMA'S OPEN BORDERS, NO DEPORTATIONS AMNESTY AGENDA!
And this beauty comes complete with a token wrist-slap: Fail to prove "operational control" of the border within five years and political appointees at the DHS will be barred from receiving BONUSES! Oh, the inhumanity… of course, political appointees serve at the PLEASURE OF THE PRESIDENT.
Is it any wonder this stinking betrayal is being RUSHED through the legislative process by Boehner – complete with SUSPENSION OF THE RULES – with a vote expected BY WEDNESDAY OF NEXT WEEK before they all slink out for a long weekend?
MUST BE NICE.
We have just days to stop this betrayal in its tracks by blasting Congress in D.C. AND home district offices.
With this border betrayal expected to be shoved through Congress NEXT WEEK, we need YOUR URGENT PETITIONS NOW pounding Capitol Hill to get back in line with the American voters who PUT THEM IN OFFICE!
